Paying for Claude and GPT API access from Kazakhstan and the CIS
Official Anthropic and OpenAI accounts need a card and billing address from a supported country. Here is which zukko.pro payment methods actually work from the CIS, and which do not.

Official Anthropic and OpenAI billing is tied to a card and billing address from a supported country, and most CIS countries are simply not on that list. zukko.pro does not work around the official API's restriction — it is a separate gateway with its own billing that can be reached from almost anywhere. Here is which zukko.pro payment methods actually work from Kazakhstan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, and neighboring countries, and which are built specifically for Russia.
What will not work
SBP is Russia's central bank Faster Payments System, and it only accepts transfers from accounts at Russian banks. Without an account in Russia, this method is simply unavailable, regardless of citizenship or physical location.
A regular card via PayPear is built for cards enrolled in NSPK, meaning cards issued by Russian banks. A card from a Kazakh, Armenian, or any other local bank will not go through this route.
What actually works
Crypto. The one method of the four that is not tied to a specific country or banking system. If you have a wallet with USDT or another supported coin, the top-up goes through regardless of where you physically are or which bank holds your account. For most users in the CIS, this is the most predictable option.
A foreign Mastercard EU card via Fride. This method was set up specifically for cards issued outside Russia, and it works with Mastercard cards from banks in the EU. If you have such a card — say, an account with a European bank in addition to a local one — it can be used. If the card is issued by a bank in Kazakhstan, Armenia, or another CIS country (not the EU), do not assume it will go through this specific processor — Fride targets cards from the EU zone. The only way to be sure is a small test payment. Keep the method's terms in mind: a commission of about 13%, and a single top-up between $2 and $594.
What choosing a method looks like in practice
Open /app/payments and you will see the full list of available methods. The interface does not hide SBP from a user in Kazakhstan — it just will not work if the bank cannot process the transfer. A practical order to try: if you have crypto, start there, since it is the most reliable option with no dependency on country. If there is no crypto but there is a European bank account, try Mastercard EU. SBP is only worth trying if you hold an account at a Russian bank.
Why a separate gateway instead of an account directly with Anthropic or OpenAI
Official Anthropic and OpenAI consoles require a billing card from a limited list of countries at signup, and that list does not include most CIS states. zukko.pro does not emulate the official API in this respect — it is a separate API gateway: one fetch_... key gives access to Claude, GPT, and GLM models through its own billing, unrelated to the account's country. Technically it looks like an ordinary call to an Anthropic-compatible or OpenAI-compatible endpoint:
curl https://api.zukko.pro/v1/chat/completions \
-H "Authorization: Bearer fetch_your_key" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"model":"gpt-5.6-sol","messages":[{"role":"user","content":"hello"}]}'What gets charged is the zukko.pro account balance, not a subscription with the model provider itself, so the official Anthropic and OpenAI country restrictions no longer apply.
Controlling spend when topping up is difficult
If topping up the balance is not straightforward, it is worth setting a daily or monthly spending limit on the key right away — this is done on the key's page in the /app/api-keys dashboard. That avoids a situation where a balance that was hard to top up gets drained faster than planned, for example because of a bug in your own code that ends up looping on calls.
The referral program as a balance source without a card
If bank-based payment methods are unreliable and crypto is not always on hand, keep the referral program in mind: 10% of what invited users top up is credited to your balance automatically. For a team or community where several people already use zukko.pro, this can partly cover the need to top up without going through external payment systems.
If nothing works
If neither crypto, nor Mastercard EU, nor SBP fits your situation, it is better not to guess at a workaround and instead write to support at https://t.me/zukkopro?direct describing what is actually available to you (card type, whether you have a crypto wallet, the bank's country) — that is also the place to confirm the current status of a specific payment method for your country.
Confirming access actually works
After the first successful top-up, it is worth checking right away that the key can actually reach the models you need, rather than treating a successful top-up as a guarantee on its own. The public model list needs no key and can be checked before the first billed request:
curl https://api.zukko.pro/v1/modelsAnd the balance itself, after topping up, with the same key you will use for real work:
curl https://api.zukko.pro/v1/balance \
-H "Authorization: Bearer fetch_your_key"If both responses look as expected — the model list is there, the balance grew by the top-up amount — you can move on to regular API work without spending more time re-verifying the payment method.
